Congratulations to Joseph F. Kulesa, who will serve as liaison to the Rotterdam Rules joint task force, a joint effort with the Maritime Law Association and the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) and International Law Section.  The Rotterdam Rules is a convention on international multimodal transportation which, if adopted, will replace COGSA and will extend to the entire carriage, including inland legs of the contract.

Paul R. Walker will be providing annual mandatory training sessions to claim management personnel addressing the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations.  These are regulations that affect all claims representatives who handle California claims for admitted and non-admitted insurers that issue policies in California and handle California claims.

July 1, 2008 John J. McNally elected as a Delegate to the Republican National Convention representing the 17th Congressional District. The Republican Party of Pennsylvania delegation to the RNC elected John, along with 7 other delegates, to represent Pennsylvania on the four Convention Committees (Platform, Credentials, Rules and Permanent Organization). John will serve on the Permanent Organization Committee. The RNC Convention is Sept 1-5 in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Senior Partner Joseph P. Hafer was admitted into the prestigious Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel at its 2006 Annual Meeting in Bermuda. Membership in the FDCC is by nomination and election only and is limited to 1050 defense counsel in the United States.  The FDCC sponsors semi-annual meetings and seminars, and encourages committee involvement in sharing the FDCC’s ideals of  “Knowledge, Justice and Fellowship”.
