Barbara Graybill joins the firm as a Partner effective January 2011.  She is a 1983 graduate of the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University.

She interned with the Department of Public Welfare Legal Office during law school, moving to the Senate of Pennsylvania’s Public Health and Welfare during the initial phase of the Independent Regulatory Review Commission. Under the direction of Senator Roy W. Wilt, she worked with policy, regulatory and statutory issues, moving from her counsel position to become executive director of the Senate Public Health and Welfare Committee.

She served as in-house counsel to the Pennsylvania Health Care Association and has worked in-house for two long term care retirement communities.

In addition to four years as plaintiff’s counsel in LTC abuse and neglect cases, she has spent the majority of her working career representing long term care providers in all aspects of operations. She has worked extensively with HIPAA issues, infection control, nursing standards of care, the State Operations Manual, and helped develop plans of correction and accountability standards in survey and certification cases.

She has worked extensively with personal care, assisted living, nursing facility and CCRC providers in all phases of operations, compliance and defensibility. Barbara is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
