Shawn has an active and wide ranging practice in health care matters.  In addition to representing physicians in malpractice actions, Shawn has also provided representation and counsel to health care providers with respect to employment, partnership and vendor contracts, Stark and Anti-kickback analysis, HIPAA, ADA, FMLA and discrimination actions, and regulatory issues pertaining to Ambulatory Surgery Centers, medical records and ancillary providers.

In college, Shawn majored in mathematics and authored a thesis on statistics. He also played varsity football and baseball and served as President of Omicron Delta Kappa and as a residence hall director.

Following law school at Washington and Lee University, Shawn clerked for current Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania Judge Robert E. Simpson, Jr, at the time he was on the bench of the Court of Common Pleas of Northampton County, Pennsylvania.
