Todd has 20 years of courtroom experience. He has first-chaired 125 jury trials, and has received the highest peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
Todd's practice focuses on the defense of transportation and other catastrophic auto accident cases; on insurance coverage and insurance fraud investigations; and on white-collar and other criminal defense matters. He also has handled the defense of medical malpractice suits. In connection with the defense of transportation- and other auto-related civil litigation, he has successfully handled the defense of several high profile criminal prosecutions stemming from traffic fatalities.
Before joining the firm in June 1994, Todd served as a Chief Deputy District Attorney in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. As a prosecutor there for eight years, he supervised complex investigations, including those stemming from fatal motor vehicle accidents; he ran the habitual offender unit; and he taught criminal law at the local police academy. Prior to working for the District Attorney's Office, Todd served as a judicial law clerk to United States Magistrate Judge J. Andrew Smyser, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvana.
For the past two years, Todd has been serving as a court-appointed arbitrator in the Dauphin County Court of Common Pleas.
Todd is the firm's primary contact for the USLAW Network, a nationwide group of law firms, which meet regularly to network socially and professionally, and to put on informative and entertaining seminars on topics relevant to their clients' business pursuits. Todd regularly makes educational presentations to transportation and insurance industry groups, and is a member of TIDA (Trucking Industry Defense Association) and TLA (Transportation Lawyers Association).
