With over 20 years of courtroom experience, Steve has first-chaired more than 100 jury trials, and is privileged to have received the highest peer review rating from Martindale-Hubbell.  Steve's practice is primarily devoted to the defense of claims against the transportation industry, including matters involving autos, trucks and buses, premise liability claims, and related personal injury, commercial and property claims.

Before joining the firm in 1992, Steve gained significant trial experience covering thirty-seven (37) counties in Pennsylvania as a Deputy Attorney General in the Tort Litigation Unit of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, where he defended Commonwealth agencies, including Penn DOT, State hospitals, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Department of General Services, and State universities, against lawsuits involving death and serious injury.  Steve was appointed to the position by the Honorable LeRoy F. Zimmerman, and served from 1986 to 1990.

Steve is an active member of the Pennsylvania Defense Institute (PDI), the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), the Commercial Transportation Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association (ABA), the Trucking Law Committee of the Defense Research Institute (DRI), the American Trucking Association (ATA), the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), the Pennsylvania Motor Truck Association  (PMTA), the Dauphin County Bar Association, and the Harrisburg Claims Association.  He has served as a Court appointed arbitrator in Dauphin County, and is the former chairman of the Dauphin County Bar Association's Arbitration Committee.  He has lectured on defense strategy, loss prevention and other litigation topics to insurers and self-insureds in the transportation industry and at various insurance and litigation related seminars throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Connecticut and New Jersey.

Steve is a life-long resident of the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area where he resides with his wife, Jennifer, daughter, Emma and son, Jack.  He enjoys running, golf and gardening.
