Tom is a native of Pittsburgh and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Notre Dame. Tom’s practice areas include litigation, professional licensure, health care, white collar criminal defense, and general criminal defense.
Tom joined the firm in July 2007, after 20 years with the Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office. As a prosecutor, Tom tried approximately 200 cases to jury verdict. He has extensive experience investigating and prosecuting a wide variety of criminal matters, including homicides, sexual assaults, police use of force cases and white collar cases.
Over the past 6 years, Tom has become involved with health care issues, with an emphasis on the long-term care industry, and he was recently invited to present on these issues by the California Attorney General’s Office. From 1995 to 1998, Tom served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney and acted as lead counsel in a significant RICO prosecution.
