Yesterday, October 29, 2024, Governor Shapiro signed into law an amendment to the Pennsylvania Workers’ Compensation Act which abolishes the “abnormal working conditions” standard for post-traumatic stress injuries for first responders. Depending on the triggering event, first responders who have been diagnosed with such mental injuries, will be entitled to
