Jim joined the firm in July of 2016. He was formerly senior counsel in a litigation practice group based in Pittsburgh, PA. Prior to this Jim was managing a staff counsel office for a large insurance company. In that position, Jim was directly responsible for handling a wide variety of cases including wrongful death, municipal tort, employment, discrimination, sexual assault, construction defect, motor vehicle liability and subrogation matters. Jim has spent over 25 years in private practice representing, advising and trying cases on behalf of individuals, insurance companies and major corporations including Burger King, K-Mart and MTD Products.
Jim was previously a partner in an insurance defense litigation firm where he tried over one hundred cases to verdict in courts throughout Pennsylvania. In addition to auto liability matters, Jim has tried cases involving products liability, premises liability, liquor liability, medical malpractice, fire loss and insurance coverage disputes. Jim has successfully represented seriously injured plaintiffs through mediation and jury trial. Jim has briefed and argued cases in both the state and federal appellate courts.
Jim has served as both a municipal solicitor and as a solicitor to a zoning hearing board. He is a past officer and board member of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association. Jim has served on the Board of Directors for United Methodist Homes.
