The purpose of Senate Bill 1304 is to amend P.L.736, No.338, which caps funeral costs following an employee’s death at $7,000.00. On May 1, 2026, the Bill was referred to the Pennsylvania Senate Labor & Industry Committee. If passed, the cap will increase to $20,000.00. The goal is for the increased cap is to reflect the reality that burial costs have increased for Pennsylvania families. TTH Attorneys will continue to monitor this proposed legislation.
