Matthew E. Ainsley is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office, where he practices in a variety of civil litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, and while in law school, Matt served in several positions within the federal government, including working as a summer law clerk for two different United States Attorney’s Offices, and more recently serving as a law clerk for the Committee on Ways and Means in the U.S. House of Representatives, a position he held for four consecutive semesters. Matt also worked for a lobbying firm before joining Thomas, Thomas & Hafer.

Matt was active in his law school, where he competed as a member of the Moot Court Board, and served as an editor on the Journal of Law, Economics, and Policy. Prior to starting law school, Matt worked as an intern for the Supreme Court of the United States, and was an intern with the New York State Office of the Attorney General.
