TT&H Attorney Chelsea Williams Wins Slip and Fall Action in Delaware County, PA

TT&H Attorney Chelsea Williams, an associate in the Philadelphia, PA office, recently won a slip and fall case in Delaware County, PA.  In the litigation that was pending in the Delaware County Court of the Common Pleas, the Plaintiff claimed significant and permanent injuries to her right knee and left hip, resulting in injections, 3 months of missed work, and excessive future lost wages and medical expenses.  The Plaintiff was an employee of Iron Hill Brewery and was descending (allegedly) unlit stairs behind the restaurant when she slipped and fell on the stairway.  The Plaintiff alleged that Defendant was negligent for, inter alia, broken and defective steps, improper lighting, and a failure to warn of dangerous conditions.

Throughout the course of discovery, Chelsea was able to establish a landlord-out-of-possession defense, as well as a defense for lack of notice.  Ultimately, Chelsea was able to convince the Plaintiff to discontinue the entire action the day before trial.
