On January 14, 2021, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland granted a Motion to Dismiss filed by TT&H Attorney Lauren Mistretta Upton.  Lauren represented an individual doctor and prison health care provider who was sued by an inmate located within a Maryland detention center.  The Plaintiff claimed that the doctor and detention center provided inadequate medical care to address a chronic eye condition while he was a pretrial detainee.  Lauren won a dismissal of the claim by persuading the Court that the Plaintiff failed to prove that any of the Defendants acted with deliberate indifference to a serious medical need.
